All around in Gran Canaria before Christmas you can find many Christmas Crèche, - large and small tableaux or scenes that describe what happened for about 2000 years ago. They can usually be visited from 1st of December until the "Los Reyes Magos" (the real Christmas season in the Spanish tradition takes place on 6 January). Some of these are incredible made with scaled houses, figures, clothes and objects that describe an interesting side of Canarian culture and tradition.

The Christmas Crèche, El Belen (Spanish - for Bethlehem) as it is called, is divided into three parts: the Old Testament, birth, life and death of Jesus Christ, as well as culture and nature in Gran Canaria. This is integrated into a composition with lighting that represents night and day, liquid streams with fish, live lambs, the effect of the rain that falls on people in different shapes and sizes.

I could have walked around for hours to study details, but the bus take us forward to new places. The visit to this Christmas Crèche will stand as the best memory from this holiday. Memory for lifetime.
